Smart Door Safety Sensors

A motorised or automatically moving door should not simply move because it received a command. Its sensing, movement logic, force limits, access behaviour and manual strategy are designed around the real opening and the people who use it.

Obstruction awareness

The system is designed to detect when movement is not clear.

Depending on the selected automation and application, a Smart Door can use presence or obstruction sensing, monitored movement and configured stopping or reversing behaviour to reduce the risk of contact or trapping. The exact sensor type, coverage and response are selected and commissioned for the project rather than assumed from appearance alone.

Presence sensingDetects people or objects in defined areas where the selected system supports it.
Controlled movementOpening and closing speed, force and response behaviour are configured around the door and automation package.
Obstruction responseThe system can stop or change behaviour when a monitored obstruction condition is detected, subject to the selected equipment.
Manual strategyPower loss, emergency use and service access are planned so the door is not dependent on one hidden interaction alone.
Important

Safety is verified by specification and commissioning, not by a marketing promise.

Doors Dublin treats sensor coverage and safe operation as part of the complete system. A specific project may also be subject to manufacturer instructions, building requirements, accessibility requirements or other standards. Those project requirements take precedence over a generic website description.
